Our highly skilled team is made up of our internal resources as well as our network of business partners. Our team combines international technical standards with local know-how. We have a team of 75 experienced power engineers and technicians who have experience managing power installations across 1 500 sites in Zimbabwe, Lesotho and Burundi. Our network of highly skilled partners specialise in solar Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC’s) throughout the regions we operate in. We select our partners to be the leaders in their markets with outstanding technical expertise and a proven track record.

Norman Moyo

CEO


Norman has a well-rounded experience, gained whilst working in various African countries like Nigeria, Zimbabwe, Zambia, Tanzania & South Africa. Having begun his career journey at Standard Chartered Bank, he moved into the telecommunications industry when GSM technology was introduced in Africa, by being part of the Econet Wireless Zimbabwe team. Thereafter he moved to Celtel International as Commercial Director in Zambia before landing the job of Chief Marketing Officer in Nigeria. Prior to his current engagements, he was the Chief Executive Officer of Helios Tanzania and Etisalat Tanzania. Norman is resilient in seeing through what he starts off, ensuring it blooms to full function and success. In 2011 Norman was nominated in the prestigious GTB global top 40 world telecom leaders under 40 years, as a result of his work in Nigeria. He holds an Honours Degree in Economics, an MBA from the University of Zimbabwe and London Business school training. He also has a passion in disseminating information which is evidenced by the book he wrote in 2015, “Rumble in The Jungle, Leadership from an African Perspective.”

Divyajeet Mahajan

Divyajeet brings over 17 years of ‘techno-commercial’ telecom-management experience which he accumulated by holding key national and global responsibilities across his career span spread over the African and Indian sub-continent. Interested in the developing field of network communications, he started his professional career at a Software company named HCL Perot Systems, India. Within 1year, he moved to his core area of Telecommunications and joined Tata Teleservices Limited, India where he rolled out last mile optical fibre connectivity solutions. He worked with Bharti Airtel Limited in India for five years in various management roles before he moved to Airtel Africa Headquarters, Nairobi-Kenya in 2010 with an objective to drive Opex Management and efficiencies for 17 African countries. He was instrumental in setting MNO-led TowerCo operations and have successfully headed Airtel Tanzania Towers, part of Airtel Tanzania Ltd. In 2015, he joined Econet Wireless Limited and is spearheading its Passive Infrastructure Operations. Divyajeet holds an Electronics & Telecom Engineering Degree from Pune University and business management certifications from the premier Business schools in India - IIM Indore and IIM Calcutta, respectively.

Nigel Mangwiro

Nigel has 17 years experience, mostly in entrepreneurial environments across eight African markets. He is also experienced in Capital market transactions, acquisitions and capital raising and tax structuring and business recovery. Previously, CFO of African Sun Limited, Cresta Hospitality and Caps Pharmaceuticals. Chairman, Pulse Pharmaceuticals, in the top three Pharmaceutical wholesalers in Zimbabwe. A Chartered Accountant and Certified Assessor for the ICAZ TOPP program( Training outside of Professional Practice ) for Chartered Accountants.

Joachim Baumgaertner


Joachim Baumgaertner is the founder of Green Rhino Energy, an independent consultancy and project developer in the renewable energy sector. With a particular focus on early-stage solar projects both on- and off-grid in Africa, he brings together technology, finance and training. Recent engagements include the development of a utility-scale solar farm in Zimbabwe, fund raising for a solar park in South Africa and technical and financial consultancy on a hybrid solar – battery – diesel project in Sierra Leone. Won FMO’s “Solar Sharktank Project Competition” in Amsterdam in 2016. Joachim has developed and delivered classroom training courses on energy project finance and renewable energy finance in London and Johannesburg. Prior to founding his own company, Joachim managed global projects in credit trading and market risk management with HSBC, and consulted for BP International on credit risk management. Joachim has a Masters in Electrical Engineering and an MPhil in Renewable Energy, conducting research into hybrid renewable energy systems. He gained an MBA with distinction from London Business School.

Andrea Duffin

Andrea has 22 years in telecommunications, banking & retail experience across African, European & American markets. She is also experienced in managing entrepreneurial startups & teams in technical & innovative environments. Andrea was previously the Group Finance Information Officer for Econet Group servicing six African countries. She founded & grew boutique management consultancy specializing in strategy implementation & performance improvement. Andrea is also a certified executive coach.

Wessel Wessels

COO


Wessel has over 25 years of experience fulfilling senior sales, operational and executive functions. With a strong ICT background, Wessel ventured into the South African energy sector in 2013 as CEO of a fledgling Energy EPC. In a period of months under his leadership, the company became strategically, technologically and operationally established and was soon recognized as one of the leaders in the PV rooftop space. Projects installed under Wessel’s leadership exceeded 12mWp and include a number of firsts in Africa, such as the largest optimizer module base installation and the largest micro inverter installation. Wessel was instrumental in establishing First Energy Alternatives (the largest financing / PPA offering in the South African market) in partnership with Rand Merchant Bank. Through this initiative and collaborating with other financing partners, the contracted base has exceeded 5mWp, which is currently the largest in South Africa for Distributed Energy Finance. Wessel’s experience has shown that a company’s success, strongly depends on its ability to quickly and consistently deliver value to customers through quality, operational maturity, innovation and customer service. A key responsibility for Wessel in Distributed Power Africa, is to optimize an end-to-end value chain that effectively delivers the core functions of Logistics, Distribution, Value Engineering, Construction, Program Management, Quality Management, Operational Management, Service Delivery and Financing., thereby empowering customers to make a Zero Risk, Zero Finance decision against a long-term asset. Previous executive roles include Dimension Data (Sales Director), Arivia.kom (Chief Solutions Architect), Bytes Group (Outsourcing Executive), Virgin Money (CTO), Multisource (COO) and BrightBlack (CEO).
